This is a good question. To rephrase, is any special care taken when the mint wraps rolls? Have they been "handled" less? I'm curious as to what others' experience has been. Me, I've never broken open a mint roll LOL
I would think it has been handled less because for Stringers (the bank rolls) there's the extra step of being transported in bags to the rolling company.
The coins wrapped in the Mint paper are wrapped at the same location where the local Fed Bank has their coins wrapped in String & Sons paper. The coins for the Mint rolls are shipped in the exact same type bags. There is no difference in the coins and reports go both ways, some people find better coins in the Mint papaer while others find better quality coins in the Bank rolls. So you can truly say there is no real quality difference.
I agree with Conder, there is no difference between how they are handled nor wrapped or how many times they have been handled. They all are the exact same coins packaged by the exact same people just in different type of wrappers. The same counting machines are counting both roll types out of the same bags
