Could somebody help me to identify this coin? Apologize for the "quality" of the pictures, I will try to improve if it will not be clear enough. Thanks.
Hi josef I think it could be Chinese: Honan Province: 20 cents: silver: Y#389.1 or 389.2 depending on number of rows of bricks to the right of the pillar on the reverse. Subject is the Canton Martyrs (whoever they may have been, will have to investigate). The date, in chinese numerals, is above the 20 on the obverse, either year 17 (1928) or year 20 (1931). Value wise? Don't know you'd better ask someone who knows about grading. Hope this helps. Vic
Whups. I think both Vic and I were misled by the Krause catalogue layout; while the Krause has "Honan" at the top of the page, I believe these coins are actually struck for "Fukien" province.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
