Question About Preserving Coins - Coin Community Forum

metaldetectingtaylor Valued Member 136 Posts	Posted 11/19/2009 08:55 am Hi all, I was just curious of what the best to preserve some of my coins that are in good uncirculated condition that I want to keep for several years tucked away. Would the plastic coin tubes be the best? and are they air tight? any help would be appreciated. -Taylor Report this Post to the Staff

Put them in coin tubes then in a ziploc vacuum bag. Adding a dessicant of some sort would also help Report this Post to the Staff
925dealer Valued Member United States 258 Posts	Posted 11/27/2009 11:57 pm Coins will tarnish over time when in books. Even Dansco books do not protect the coins as well as they should. I have bought complete dansco books in the past and looked with disgust at the tarnished coins that I know were in superb condition when they were put in the book to begin with.
