I went to the bank today to get some rolls of nickles and pennies to look through. I got ten rolls of pennies and ten rolls of nickles. The teller gives me the nickles and I look at them. The top coin of each one is either the obverse or reverse of the Ocean In view nickle. So is the other side. I couldnt believe that I got 10 rolls of UNC OIV nickles. So I opened one and the whole roll was OIV nickles all in UNC condition.
Well just wanted to share some nice fortune.
Should I hang on to these?

I would only keep a couple rolls. Then open the others and pick out 10-15 of the best ones and put them in 2x2's. Take the rest back to the bank to trade for more.

Laxmaster,
Not bad for a few minutes work! Now put those extra's into circulation. Since these have been released I have received just 3 in change. I think everyone is saving them.

The tops and bottoms of the rolls all have the OIV nickle obverse or reverse

I know that I am pretty new to this but I would like to learn. Can you post a picture of what you are talking about? Thanks, Rob

When you look at the top of the roll it has a OIV nickle. When you look at the other side of the roll there is also a OIV nickle

We seldom see an OIV nickel here in western Colorado.
I can recall seeing two in the last month.
Too bad because I really like them.

Just dumped a week's worth of change on my desk, including probably 50 nickels. Not one 2006, and not one OIV.
People almost certainly are hoarding them, at least in this part of the country.

Gary, I just realized something. I have this folder for the Westward Journey Nickles. I found everyone EXCEPT the OIV D nickle. I dont think the Denver mint minted as many as they were said to have minted becuase every OIV nickle I see is from the Philly mint

I dont think Denver oiv nickels were particular hoarded ... I have about 15 Denver oiv nickels, and none from Philly ... It's because I live in California, and our banks get their coins from Denver.
Contact me by email, and we'll arrange a swap!
