that in 100 years todays currency EX( Lincoln Memorial cent, Jefferson nickle, Roosevelt dime, Washington/State Quarters, Kennedy Halfs and Sac Dollars) will be worth the money that coinage from the late 1800's and early 1900's are worth today? I mean we can be spending all of this type of money today that can be worth hundreds of dollars in 100 years. Do you think we should save some of todays coinage and dollar bills?

I think since the 60's coin mintages have just been to high for coins to reach the relative values that those of 100 years ago did. They will go up as long as peopel collect money but I don't think the increases will be of the same magitude. Just my 2C worth

Supply and demand.
I noticed in RedBook that common all Indian Head cents in G4 condition are worth $2. 100 years after minting.

The Lincoln 1910 cent (mintage 148,801,218)G4 is worth $ .30
While the 1910-S cent (mintage 6,045,000)G4 fetches $8.00
In a hundred years they will be worth much more!

The 2005 has a mintage of 3,935,600,000 and the 2005-D 3,764,450,000.
With these large mintages these coins will never be rare. They will be fun to collect, and you'll need one of each to have a full set, but in a hundred years they will not be expensive.

Having said that....look at the mintage figures for Kennedy half dollars!

I gues I am in a minority here I actually do not think they will be like the old coins now because they arent made of the same prcious metals that the coins we now collect were in. And I just dont see someone melting down a million cents to get the little bit of copper off the layer of it like they melted down all the morgans and other silver coins (some dates to extinction). I think they may be worth a little bit more than they are now but I really doubt unless something major happens in the next 100 years that no one can forsee I just dont see it happening with todays coinage.
