1946 Wlking Liberty Die Chip? - Coin Community Forum

laxmaster92 Member United States 1154 Posts	Posted 07/09/2006 6:23 pm I bought this on ebay and I got it today and flipped it over and I saw a chip right under the F in Half. The chip goes hrough the whole coin to the other side above Liberty's head. IS this an error? And does it add any value to the coin? Thanks alot!! Metalman Pillar of the Community United States 7123 Posts	Posted 07/09/2006 6:43 pm Hi Lax From the pics,, I tried to enhance them but the attempt was lees than successful,, The coin looks like it may be a crack planchet, can you get better pics ? If it is crack the coin will carry a premium ,, If this turns out to be a crack planchet, I would suggest having it attributed,graded and slabbed. Rick Report this Post to the Staff

kcvet67 New Member United States 17 Posts	Posted 07/14/2006 12:12 pm It looks like that to me. Normally, lamination errors result in a thin layer not bonded to the rest of the planchet perhaps this one occured near the edge of a sheet. Report this Post to the Staff
