I agree with VF35. The coin appears to have very nice patina and thus has nice eye appeal to me. Report this Post to the Staff

Yes, it's the variety designator; Al Overton was the original codifier of Bust Half varieties and his name is lent to these designations; hence, the "O" before the number. Pretty much all Bust Half die pairs have been identified. O-104 for this year (each separate year is numbered starting with O-101 thru however many die pairs exist) is a common variety, carrying no real premium. I agree with the VF grades mentioned, and this looks like a very nice example at the grade. Report this Post to the Staff

Excuse my ignorance but does O-104 mean the the reverse side does not line up with obverse or does it mean something else? I also thought this looked like a VF-35 coin that's why I asked. cownas22 Pillar of the Community United States 1055 Posts	Posted 06/15/2010 09:19 am My initial thought was somewhere around VF-35 as well, but I can see how the coin was graded a XF-40. I have a bust half with a bit more wear on the cheek and bust that is graded VF-35 PCGS. Nice Half. Report this Post to the Staff
