So I decided to crack open some rolls of the 2010P nickels I just got from the box (Brinks). Turns out some other dates are mixed in, including 2009 P and other older dates. Since nickels are quick for me to search I have been looking through all of the rolls. Also found so far are 2 blank planchets!! I would imagine they are 2010 blanks since each roll has either full 2010 or all but like 2 2010s. Very cool, pics to come once my girlfriend gets home with her camera.

Wow that is interesting. I remember years ago getting boxes of nickels at the bank and they'd be all BU for that year, but occasionally I'd get a box like yours where it would be 98-99% that year but a few other years mixed in- always wondered how that could happen?

I bought 4 2010 P nickel rolls and found old dates in two of the rolls. The seller sent me individuals to make up for the dreck dates.

Neil, what would you have expected the seller to do if they didn't have any individuals to send you? I wonder if they had to break open rolls to get more for you...

Actually when I usedf to nickel search and wind up with a box of BU rolls, a few rolls would be mostly that year, with a couple of other years mixed in. Very strange having 38 BU 1988P and 2 for other years.

From personal experience, I have never found a Brinks box that contained nothing but all new coins. If I am trying to get solid date new boxes, I look for the String/Garda rolls. I frequently get them there. One box of solid date 2010 nickels this year, and six boxes of solid date Shield cents.

no the box and rolls I got were not all 2010 or all 2009 in the rolls they were mixed I got like 12 2009 P, only a few of the rolls were full 2010P most had a few BU's from other years the oldest being 64 P and 64 D. The blank ones were really cool and unexpected. The most from a date other then 2010 in one roll was 2 coins. I gave one roll to my baby brother, and kept 4 rolls of BU 2010's for myself along with the blank ones and the 2009's. I kept 4 rolls for myself cause I had 5 rolls of already searched nickels at my house, so I swapped them out for the 5 total rolls I took from the box. Oh yeah box is gone....back at the bank. 2010 P's will be all over western NY in no time. LOL

At the time the seller was not selling individuals on ebay, so yes. he had to break open rolls. Which made me think if I got two impure rolls out of four. The odds are good that other buyers with unopened 2010 rolls also have impure rolls. They were NF String rolls.
