Today I opened 6 rolls of nickel and 2 1940's being 1940 and 1941 is this good? I'm new to opening rolls like this. Soon I want to buy a box of nickels from the back and I was wanting any advice you veterans might have for me on starting this.

Indeed .....

The 1940 and 1941 Jefferson are not too tough to find ....... but always fun to find a 70 year old coin still loose in the wild.

There are many of us here who enjoy roll searching nickels.

I advise that you check out this thread, where we add our finds and share ideas ...

The 42 D and the 44(check the mintmark, was it a P?)are both good finds. The 44,in case you don't know, is 35% silver.

jnesbitt, before you toss those Canadian nickels, you need to know that any Canadian nickels from 1955-1981 are made of a very high percentage of nickel. At the present price of nickel(the metal) they are worth just under 10 cents each.

Every time I do a box of nickels, I end up with like 2.50 - 5.00 in pre 59 nickels. They are so abundant in my area I stopped doing nickels as it was actually denting my money for half dollars.
