You guys just want a scoreboard total for the first round
or do you want the "story" breakdown on who's headed for the big showdown?

it would be fun to see the story if it isn't too much work. I know I'm eliminated but if there is a close race, it would be fun to follow the possible winners.

Any other votes on scoreboard or "the skinny"?

I think the story would be more interesting, since I am mathematically eliminated already.

OK! So, here's the scoop: The only one's to emerge with a perfect bracket so far are steve199 and Wornslick. In striking distance at 3 points each are murty and weerdsteev. Everyone else has been mathematically eliminated. For the purposes of the pool, the Giants-Phillies series is irrelevant. Regardless of who emerges in that series, the pool will be decided by the Rangers-Yankees series. Should the Rangers emerge, steve199 and Wornslick are on a collision course for tiebreakers. Should the Yankees emerge, murty and weerdsteev are in a potential head-to-head matchup. With murty taking the Phillies and weerdsteev riding the Yankees. Of course, that assumes the Phillies make it to the big dance. Should the Giants emerge to face the Yankees, weerdsteev takes control with a Yankees win. The Giants winning over the Yankees force murty and weerdsteev into a tiebreaker decision.

great 'story' scooby. I don't think it will change my mind as to not wanting the yankees and wanting the giants in the WS. I would at least get a moral victory if they make the big series.

I wasn't trying to change anybody's mind about who they wanted to win!
Since the Rays are out of it, I just want a good series. And I think it's shaping up to be a good one. I wouldn't mind seeing the Giants go. Rangers on their first post-season run EVER. I'm sure this pool would be the last thing on steve199's mind if the Rangers won it all! Phillies have to be proven otherwise.
Although, I'm still torn on how I feel about the Yankees. It's kind of a Boo-Yay.
Lincecum-Halladay ought to be a real treat!

Congrats weavus, Steve and any other Giants and Rangers fans! Who would have thunk it? I certainly didn't!
So, steve199 and Wornslick both took 5 games in the series and the Phillies winning it.
So, it boils down to the runs and/or hits tiebreakers:
steve199 - 27 runs Wornslick - 39 runs
IF there are exactly 33 runs:
steve199 - 43 hits Wornslick - 88 hits
Good luck guys!

We have a winner! Giants win it! Congrats to them and the Rangers. Coming in at 41 runs, Wornslick wins it with one of the worst looking brackets I've seen with just about any sport! So, what does that tell you about ours?! Congrats Wornslick! PM your digits and I'll get that mug out to you!
