I too say avoid them like the plague, but I still kick myself for not buying the 2008 W Silver Eagles with the reverse of the 2007. I thought to myself ,"what's the big deal about the stars being different on the back." They were selling them, as far as I remember only that night for $89.99. Within days they were selling for over $500.00 on the same show.

You know, that reminds me, I never did check my 2008 Proofs, to see if I had the '07 reverse on there or not ! ...... I'm not usually very lucky with stuff like that.....but I "should" at least "confirm" that I don't have it, right ?!

I couldn't agree more with everyone here. HSN and other programs feed off of the public. They tout coins that have little value, hype them up, and make a fortune doing it. I would steer clear from these shows, unless you want to watch it for entertainment.

Hate that the owners of my baseball team (Braves) is also 100% owners of QVC and 32% owners of HSN.

Yes, but Liberty Media also owns Starz, a big chunk of DirecTV, and has helped keep SiriusXM afloat. I am just saying.

I always laugh hysterically when Mike goes off on the "Red Oak Presentation Box" :)

I laughed tonight when Mike was touting how rare their 1976 complete bicentennial set was... all the eisenhowers, kennedy's, and washington quarters- pds and s silver including var 1 and var 2 for $169.95. It was pretty laughable. I missed the rest of the show though so I don't know what else they were gouging people on tonight. But every once in a great while they may have a deal that's worth examining but rarely.

As a side note, I have DirectTV newly (well within the last month or so anyways). The coinvault on 227 is interesting to watch when its on. They are just as bad as the other shows though. However, they will sell hoards of morgan/peace dollars like 100 at a time for around $2400 which isn't a terrible price. And sometimes they'll have lots of 10 morgans/peace dollars for $250 which again isn't to terribly bad...but man some of the other stuff they sell is outrageously high. And yeah for the most part you gotta stay far away from these places when you are looking to buy except in rare instances. I watch mostly for a good laugh.

Yes! They've been buying some strange coins recently so it will hold my interest.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
