Degrees of contrast- true DCAM coins will have absolute black-white contrast between the mirrored fields and frosted devices. DCAM coins tend to be fairly rare before the 1960s/1970s while moderns are purposefully minted to DCAM standards.

Gotcha...thanks! I picked up a couple JFKs ('04 and '08) at the SW Money Show this past weekend. I don't normally get into proofs but I got them for my kids as keepsakes ('04 and '08 for the years in which they were born). I was impressed with how beautiful they are! I guess I've spent so many years going over old crusty IHCs that I neglected to check out some really beautiful coins in our modern issues.

The Kennedy CAMs and DCAMs are really nice coins. I have a ANACS PF66. It looks like a regular strike compared to the ones I have from the 80's.
