1976 50 Cent Error? - Coin Community Forum

Seriously though, can you see any sign of the mark on the reverse when you view it against the light? I would definitely say it is post mint damage. Certainly looks like stamped or pressed impression and that usually would show noticeable stress marks on reverse. unless it was done on a rubber sheet. This entry on our weblog was a question from someone with the same letter stamped as you on a 50c. http://www.australian-threepence.co...letters.html Just for interest my partner pulled out a dollar from the pokies with his own name engraved in it.
