hello, I found a penny the other day just in my pocket change and it has no date on it at all.... at first I thought it was a counterfeit but then I thought why would someone go through all the trouble making fake pennies...? anyways I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it? I have a couple odd coins I have found here and there over the years and have been becoming more and more interested in finding rare and different coins... any input would be greatly appreciated. :) thanks

You sure the date isn't on the back? I know the double dated 1992 coins have a date that's a little hidden ...

absolutely. there is no date what so ever on it at all... I have had 3 other people (friends) look at it and they told me I am not crazy there is no date to be found... it makes me curious... I like finding different odd things and started collecting different coins as a small child... I still have my first ever silver dollars and 50 cent pieces I got when I was maybe... 6. so this penny is a fun find for me.... but I have never seen anything like it before and am stumped. I suppose the fact that I know basically nothing of the coin collecting world doesn't help me at all... but I wanna learn. I find my self checking out every coin I get my hands on...

could be a Grease Filled Die, are all of the other letters & the rest of the design normal?

everything else looks like a regular Canadian penny... and I do not currently have a working camera... I am sorry, I will see if I can get a friend to take a photo of it so I can upload it for you to see...
