Cleaned out an Elementary school today and I mean cleaned out I do not think there is a target in the yard to be found. Took us 2 and a half hours. We are both sore...

Sweet! Over $23 in cash. Trash to keeper ratio for that trip is awesome. I did a nine hour Civil War relic hunt today at the Wise Fork battle field. Found a dropped 3 ring bullet and an intact infantry shoulder scale. The guy I was with dug four dropped bullets from the same hole, two of which were Confederate Cavalry Dragoons and the other two he wasn't sure about. No coins on this hunt and not much trash either. trash consisted of four spent shotgun shells, an old zinc jar lid, the top and bottom of and old cardboard oil can, and a piece of copper flashing. I'll get up some pics tomorrow.

That's a great haul for one school. Well worth the soreness factor. Must not have been searched in a long time. Only schools around here that haven't been searched are fenced off. No entry. Hopefully my day will be somewhat as fruitful.

I don't care much for the junk either but it is part of the game. Someone suggested to me a few weeks ago to keep and separate my junk finds and when I get enough to take them to the salvage yard and sell it. I have been doing that with some of my finds already. Have been hunting what was once a small neighborhood and was flooded out in August of 2000 for 2 years now and took all the copper wire and brass that I saved from this site to the recyclers on Friday. Net profit= copper $120.00 brass $22.50 for a total of $142.50. So you see junk isn't all bad
