Amongst some coins I got at auction a few weeks back were some Confederate banknotes, a selection of $1-2-5-10-100 bills. I know nothing about this currency and a quick google appeared to indicate that the wording/images were correct. I popped then on ebay to sell a couple of them and had a message back to say that they were infact issued by the bubble gum people in1965 as a collection set with bubble gum cards. I didn't want to mislead anyone so removed them from the listings.
BUT....
How can I tell if they are gum notes or the real thing ? Nowhere can I see A&BC printed on them. The paper is very fiberous. I have attached a picture so please feel free to have a say.
Cheers and thanks

Brian

Hey JBL...i myself have a $5 confedearte note and was told that many are fakes and remakes, but this site helped me out a lot....take a look and see if it can be a benefit to you as well....take a look at the canada section of the webpage because the reprints in gum were from canada if I remember correctly

Thanks Flook, excellent link.
Mine are the bubble gum variety ! Size gives it away. At least I now know how to describe them to sell 'em.

Cheers
