Welcome my friends! The day we have been waiting for is here!

It's time to see all of our Standing Liberty quarter collections!

Here's how it works:

We assign each year of SLQ minting to a particular day. Here's the schedule:

24 March: Post your 1916 SLQs
25 March: 1917 (All types, mint marks)
26 March: 1918
27 March: 1919
28 March: 1920
29 March: 1921
30 March: 1923
31 March: 1924
1 April: 1925 (No fooling!)
2 April: 1926
3 April: 1927
4 April: 1928
5 April: 1929
6 April: 1930

PLEASE try to wait for the day assigned to your coin's year to post your SLQ! (I know it's hard... But it spreads out our viewing pleasure!)

WE REALLY want to see ALL of your coins (this could be a problem for Mr. Johnny "Countdown"!)

So, C'mon people! Show us your Standing Liberty quarters!

I had this sneaking suspicion today might start this thread off a little slow...

Maybe we should have had the 1916 on the last day.

I will have something tomorrow. It will not be pretty, but it is what I have from the quickie-photos I took of the 7070.
Rest in Peace

Ok, here they are! If you guys aren't bored of them by now. I will also post the ones I found but later sold. Here is the first junk lot find.

ANACS FR02 (This one has been sold)

3rd one found. ANACS PO-1. This one I am about to trade with a forum member(I wont reveal his name, but he can speak up if he wants credit for it).

Here is one I bought as a raw single.(NOT A JUNK LOT SCORE) Disappointingly, it only got an AG3 from ANACS, but will resubmit. This is currently the one that is in my collection.

Oh, and I think I have one more junk lot score on the way.Trying to finish strong for the thread! I Just won this lot in a large lot today, but sheesh; the competition is quite fierce! I just barely won on a last second snipe. If this isn't a 16, I'm in trouble. I'm pretty sure it is and should grade FR02, but I'll know for sure next week.

14-Days-Of-Standing-Liberty-Quarters!-Post-Yours!

I'm trying to figure this out. I've come across 3, likely 4 in a year undiscovered in these lots; and I can only imagine how many I've missed! However, lookking back at the Heritage archives in the last 20 years; you will see that there are only 3 certified examples in the 1-2 grade range. ONLY 3 in 20 YEARS!! And just a couple more that graded AG. Compare that with the number of low grade 16-d mercs or 77 Indian cents of which there are many hundreds of sold in the archives!

So I'm sure the 1916 slq is still a rare coin in lower grades. Though I've worked very hard searching for them, I'm not that lucky to find this many. My conclusion is though it is still a rare coin, I think the ratio of "undiscovered raw" to " TPG certified" is much much higher than most keys. There just ARENT many of these in plastic, period. Folks are now starting to understand how to find them, and hopefully it will continue on. This is the best way for someone to be able to complete an SLQ set without taking out a second on their mortgage imho.

keep searching all!
