Why No Silver Halves Any More

I would collect the modern commemorative halves but I due not like the fact that there not silver. The only ones that are silver halves are the bill of rights and the Washington, and I wish they were more out there. I dont like the fact that the clad are getting sold by the mint for around 13-18 dollars and there not silver

That is a good question. I can't imagine they sell many clad commem halves.

I feel the same way. I am a coin collector, however I only keep items made with silver and gold. Would be nice to see some more nice silver halves.

Same for me, I have the two modern silver halves but now only collect the dollars.

I concur, the fact that the coin is made of a precious metal makes it much more appealing than a clad piece.

The 3-coin Capitol Visitor Center set is the nicest I currently own, but I would like to get the Kennedy set, with the matte proof half.
