Does anyone have a clue as to where this coin might be from and if it has any value?

It's not a coin, but a Nuremberg jeton, early style; this site has info on jetons and the third example down is a later issue of the same "rose-three-crowns-and-three-lys" design. However, instead of the token-maker's name, the legend on yours is meaningless babble: MBAOIMBAOIMBAOIMBAOI. This, plus the archaic forms of some letters, indicate it's likely to date from the 1500s. Still probably not worth much, though.
