Hey all, sorry if this is not in the right forum but here we go,

I just recently found my old collection and have come across a few interesting pieces. This one is not a coin but a token of sorts. Does anyone know anything about it, what year it was made and what its for..

These were, I am told, giveaways from gas stations in the US in the 1960s and/or 1970s. You could "collect the whole set" of presidents from Washington up to the president in office at the time (either LBJ or Nixon - I can't remember); they were probably given away in other situations too. In this old thread there's a modern set put out by Reader's Digest and another one from a similar time period to yours for president Buchanan.

I have seen several of these, skwca, including this type in bronze and some in cheaper-appearing aluminum. I wonder which gas station gave they away? I don't remember them at the time, but I'm guessing that they were some kind of Bicentennial-era promotion.
