My friend is giving me $$ to buy certain coins for his daughter and son-in-law. They were born in 1982. Just picked this one up for him

It looks like a slightly weak strike on the hair by the ears and the tips of the feathers, because the headband is not affected, nor the diamonds in the ribbon... A Beautiful MS-64

Images make the coin look like a strong 64. My guess is MS64RB with a + * or the latest superlative.

Exceptional clean surfaces with better than average coloration. Strong strike & eye appeal for early '80s IHC. It might be your photos, but I am guessing the coin has scintillating or coruscating luster when rocked, so PCGS gave the coin a MS65RD grade.

MS 63
Going with what I thought looking at the coin,
although the pier pressure is tough.

I would say MS64RB, although if they gave it just a BN, it wouldn't surprise me. Given the lighting, it's hard to tell if it's red or just a the lighting.

Unless the graders were real fussy, it made MS. I'll go MS-64BN. Lovely coin.

Well I first thought MS63 Red brown myself, then saw all the 64s and looked at it again more closely. On the reverse two leaves have some possible wear unless this is a weak strike

OK, so I'm going to stick with my original MS63 gut reaction.

Yes. My apologies :P

PCGS MS64RB. I agree with the grade. A few marks albeit not major, still held it back from 65.
Thanks everyone!
