This is the only coin in my collection I have not identified. Its damaged but dated 1861 and has III EMPORER with left facing male bust on the obverse. The reverse has a standing eagle with a banded border and slash marks. Please view photos and advise...Atlashealth

It's a French coin. Napoleon III Emperor 1864.

Probably a 5 Centimes.

The 1, 2, 5 and 10 centimes are all much the same design, only the sizes are different. The 1c is about half-dime sized, 2c about dime-sized, 5c about quarter-sized and 10c about half-dollar sized. The denomination is written out in French below the eagle eg CINQ CENTIMES for five centimes. There's also a mintmark just below the eagle, if it hasn't ben obliterated.

Thanks for the direction on this coin..since it is badly worn and damaged on the reverse, does it have any $$ value? Atlashealth
