The Krause world coin catalogue also lists all officially issued mint sets and proof sets.

For the USSR, there aren't any "proof sets" listed for 1977, but there is a mint set: KM# MS18, a nine-coin set, mintage 58750, issue prise $11, current catalogue value $8.

Actually there are SEVERAL proot sets minted in that year. Are you talking about the Silver Olympics proof set or the common nickel-cupro coin Olympics set or the common uncirculated coins in a set? As well as there could be gold or platinum coins in a box but I pretty much doubt it.

The current Krause price of Russian mint prices are NOT accurate as Russians are willing to pay ridicious prices these days.

Ok... not sure what it is then.

On the box it states "Coins of the USSR in circulation." There are nine coins and a Leningrad mint's token.

Think i'll have to take it down to the coin shop to find out more.

Thanx for all your help, sorry for the vagueness. Dont know much about foreign currency. inherited this one.

Ah I see what you mean there. It's probably approximately 20AUDish.
