Hi...I have a 1999 D Connecticut State Quarter with what appears to be a line scored on it from a mis-casting. The coin is also bent. What's the best resource for determining its worth?

Welcome to the community!

I'm sorry to say that anyone with the right tools can bend a coin like that, and it will not make it any more valuable. I can't say what that line is, but it is most likely damage inflicted upon the quarter while it was being bent.

The coin minting process does not use any molten metal so there is nothing that can be mis-cast. Pictures would be helpful but your coin has almost certainly been damaged post-mint.

Duff, chances are that somebody defaced the quarter after it was released into circulation. However, pictures always help us to get a better idea. If your camera has macro turn that option on. Get in good light. I usually turn the flash off. Try to place to coin on a contrasting surface and take a picture of both sides and then one where we can see the edge of the coin too.
