Still learning on everything. My motto, learn something everyday. This is my 1st camera shot. Can not figure how to use the zoom and keep that photo. I am using a Kodak C875. Believe you me I am dumb as a rock trying to figure coin pictures. Anyway, what is it?

The problem: not enough close up of mint mark. Still learning.
If you zoom in it may help.

Jay, thanks that site is where I tried to identify the coin. The difference in mine was a more exposed area to the west of the original. The second mark is tilted to the east top to bottom. Hope Coop jumps in. Darn, I need to learn more of coin picture taking.

How many MPEGs is your camera? Do you you any editing programs? Even the basick Windows Photo Gallery enables you to crop in for a closer look. It really helps if you have a tripod so its perfectly still. Then crop in close. The more MPEGs you have the closer you will be able to zoom in while keeping a crisp focus. I bet if you use the search function on this site there will be some tips. Good Luck!

Jay, not sure what the acronym MPEGs is and can not find it on the camera info. I do have an editing program on the camera to crop. Also I can go to Kodak Easy Share to crop and edit. I do have two tripods 5" and 5' plus and use the smaller for coins. I will win this learning process with good pictures. Thanks
Let me add I have a Mac with no Windows.

Hi BPOC1
I'm in the same boat as you. I like searching but have trouble with pics. MPEG's is your camera's megapixels, which if you are not sure of you can find in any paper work you have on the camera or google it. I'm not sure because I am horrible at taking pics, but I beleive your megapixels will have nothing to do with it. if you have a tripod, a hand held shutter control(which is about $30) and your camera has a close up option(usually a flower symbol) it will get you close to where you need as long as you get as close to the coin as your lens/camera allows (usually with in a few inches-a foot. if your like me you will still have blur, lol). I have a 15MP Cannon camera with a close up lens I borrowed from a photographer buddy and I still don't get what I want. I actually get better pics on my wife 5MP Kodak camera with any version of a picture editor that allows cropping (I use a very old version of adobe). Here is a pic I took with my wife's camera. the second pic I took with my microscope, which if you stick with it I would highly suggest as a newbie, it has helped me alot. I bought it on ebay for around $160 and it came with a web cam that fits into the eye piece and connects to my computer. It has no color or zoom out but takes great close ups. I tried cheaper versions at toy stores/shops but was just a waste of money. eventually I hope to get a microlens for my camera, which is very expensive(like $600-$800)but they take really good closeup pics. Good luck and if you figure out something better please share, I could use the help.

My bad, 1st pic is microscope, second is wife's camera. Here is a microscope pic of the 2nd pic, the "D" in case you are interseted. this is 20x, I can go to 40X if needed, but seldom need to.

Thanks people. One of the problems was with Kodak Easy Share (or me ? ) I could not download the cropped / digital zoom pictures. This was confirmed with the wife"s daughter with the same set up. I also talked to Kodak help line previous and will call on Monday ( not available on the weekend) . Hope to post a better result.
Great close ups Tershaffer.

Kodak people informed me it can't be done. ( capture a zoomed picture and tried to save it) . Looks like I'll be looking for a new method. After all, " a picture is worth a thousand words." Or should that be a thousand dollars. I wish.
