Yours appears to have more detail. That is unusual as these coins circulated
well through the 1940s and were worn pretty slick.

I like how the toning makes the details stand out. The little "pimples"
on Liberty's face are a bit distracting.

I would estimate that your find is a VF-35 and would therefore not
be placed in a bargain box. Perhaps a dealer would offer it at $18 and
settle for $12 because of the "color" and "pimples."

Also, the 1909 nickel is a slightly better date.
Just enough to make your find a fortunate one.

VF-25 hard to see the details on the obverse photo.
Mnay of these had grainy surface due to the what the mint rinsed the coin in back then.
I like the coin as it has a lot of character and would think its worth from $12.00 to $20.00
all depends on the venue you choose to sell it in.

I was thinking that the details would be those of an XF-40 coin, but I didn't know how much the scratches and the murky toning would detract from the grade. So thank you.
