What do I have here? The details of the coin are really high quality (esp for a roll hunting coin) but it has a dark, almost ashy look instead of a shine to it. Anyone?

I don't see anything really unusual. Nice find for roll hunting. Subdued luster under the toning.

Nice one! That time of year, again. I'm finding lots of goodies. Yesterday, 5 silvers & nearly a complete date & mm run from
the '40s.

I think you are right. It does seem to be a good time to search. I am not even half way through the box and I found a darn near BU 1939, a silver (my first) and a Buffalo (also my first).

Probably go back tomorrow for another box.
