1913 V Nickel On Hawaii Five O

Just saw one of my favorite and most laughable reruns of the original Hawaii Five O TV series. It was called "The $100,000 nickel."
A 1903 nickel was transformed into a 1913 using a blowtorch, chisel and (gasp) a wire brush.
The nickel was switched for a real one at a coin show. The real nickel was not in a flip or 2x2. This was in the good old days(1973) so no slab either. The thief dropped the coin in a newspaper vending machine to escape being found with it. During the episode the coin was dropped in an alley, spent on candy & used to buy a drink in a bar (where 2 scotch on the rocks came to $1.30-really good old days)
Even though it was 1973 none of the merchants that handled the coin thought anything of receiving or spending a V nickel. Even after being recovered by the police it was not put in a protective holder. TOO MUCH!
