I was curious what peoples opinions are about this. I have a holed 1804 Half Cent in fine condition and was thinking about using it as a necklace. Is this a good idea? bad idea?

However, remember that the metal coins are made of is not intended for that purpose. Meaning it may leave stains on clothing or your skin. A smart idea would be to coat that, or any coin, used for jewlery with a plastic coating of some type. Just to make sure.

Yeah, what Carl said. Clear nail polish should do nicely for that.
