I have a quick question? Can you use pure Acetone on 40% silver? Thanks

Yes, I do it all the time. Unless it is 40% silver and coal-dust.

Do you mean real 400 fine, or US silver-clad? The latter is 800 fine on the surfaces, & only averages to 400 because of the inner core of 209 fine. So, treat it just like any 800 fine (say Canadian), & the only difference will be on the edge, where you don't really care much anyway.

Well Acetone dissolves organics and is pretty much inert with respect to metals and coins are made of metal (non-organic) so there should be no problem.
