Can anyone show a coin flip with a label that they made?
Right now I have a written method but I think labels would be nicer.
I'd like to have the country (U.S.), denomination ($0.25), Year (2012) on the top of the coin flip. At the bottom would be a short description like, "Lincoln Early Life Penny".
I would appreciate any pictures to help me see what the final product looks like on your collection w/labels.

There is a leading Australian auctioneer who sticks small barcode labels to mylar - cardboard lots.
This approach would be an easy way to manage a large collection.

Does this help? I have the Dymo LetraTag and use the white paper tapes. Usually I put the country of origin in the lower left, then put a description of the coin on the bottom, such as in the Canadian Orca examples posted. Ordinarily I would have "US" in the lower left of my US coins, but in the WW2 dollars I posted, I didn't. I think my reasoning was the description was too long for it. Anyway, this should give you an idea or two.   |

SkyShark - That helps! What size tape are you using? is that 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2"? I can't tell from the picture but it based on font size I would get 1/4".

The cartridge says it is 1/2" x 13'. I fold the excess over the top and bottom, or sometimes I trim it. With it being 1/2" thick I can do double lines, like the "ORCA COLORED" and "SILVER PROOF" labels.

It's like $7.95 for a package of two rolls at Wal-mart. It's literally the only thing I ever go to Wal-mart to buy. I find they last a decent amount of time too, so it's not something I have to run out and get every other day. |
