Capped Bust Half Dollar 1821 Questions?

Steelers72 Pillar of the Community United States 1448 Posts	Posted 09/03/2013 4:36 pm I am new here; my favorite coin minted by the US is the Capped Bust half dollar. Here is this 1821 Capped bust I have. I was wondering if the condition is ok and if there are any flaws that would detract from the coins value/appeal at all? What would you all grade this? I would grade this nice Capped Bust Half at VF-25, with just a couple small scratches on the obverse bust and a couple dings in the surfaces; (Obverse 4 o'clock and Reverse 7 o'clock in the olive branch, Eagle's shield and the M & E in AMERICA). But, I don't think those flaws would merit a "Details Grade" from a TPG. My 2014 RedBook lists this grade of this coin at around $145. I like it!
