I have had a Tibetan coin in my possession for over 40 years and often wondered about it - it's denomination, age, value, etc.
I made an effort to find out by searching through various catalogs and came up with the following :-
Silver - either 1/12 srang or 3 srang (the descriptions are very similar).
The year is very much in question (if it is 3 srang) as, according to the hieroglyphics it is dated 16/7 by their calendar.
This translates as 1933 - but the catalog shows that the 1933 version looks entirely different. The 1934 looks the same.
I need an expert, or at least someone smarter than me (easy to find).
I have attached pictures.

Your coin looks like a 3 Srang from between 1935-1946.

Try this page and see if you can work out the year (I can't sorry).

As far as I can tell - 11g and 3cm.
This would definitely make it 3 srang.
I am not 100% sure about the date though.
I will have to have another look.
Would you say the grade is VF?
