That is one SLICK coin...thanks for sharing! I haven't seen much out of Norway.

Is that 8 just smashed a little or does it have some of the same problems as the 4? (what did happen to the 4 anyways?)

I have a similar coin from 1948--I like this one!
Some of the coins show doubling in 50 ore too--so I suspect it's a doubled die.

Update: after studying these coins further, it's pretty obvious these are repunched dates.
I have seen master hubs at the Kongsberg mint in Norway from this period that indicate only the last 2 digits were added to the dies. Doubling elsewhere on the coin happened independently of the date.

Yes it's common on the 1948's. have one with identical issues on the 4, which I believe had been posted here some years back.

I tried looking it up on Krause, it's not listed as a variety? Obviously there are quite a few of them and it seems dramatic enough it should be known variety right?

Krause lists overdate varieties only, not repunched dates.
