They don't fit together like a mated pair should. They were made by the same process, and are the two pieces to the same kind of error, but I think you've found cousins, not brothers. I always wondered how people get there mated pair slabbed, I am sure there are pieces that would go together but really were not made that way. Report this Post to the Staff
coppercoins Pillar of the Community United States 7629 Posts	Posted 10/07/2007 12:41 am Generally the two pieces fit together without a gap...not saying that all of them are that way for sure because I don't know...but to me if I had to make a guess, I would say that these were probably struck on the same day by the same malfunctioning machine, but were not struck together as you illustrate.
