Hello! I'm fairly new to coin collecting and have bought from a few online sites, and I just wanted to know which website is the best. So far, I have purchased coins from: Littleton Coin, Village Coin Shop, and ebay. If you could suggest any websites to buy coins for a fare price, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have only bought online from mintproducts.com a few times and haven't been disappointed. I prefer to buy coins from the few shops around that I know of just so I can see it in hand before I make the purchase. I am interested to hear of other reputable online sites.

Edit: Oh yeah, I have also bought from usmint.gov but those are fresh off the press so no worries there.....kinda

Please do not purchase from Littleton! They may have conservative grading but their prices are quite outrageous.

I recommend APMEX and Provident. They sell numismatic coins in addition to bullion.

I have purchased some nice coins from (207) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed .com
As with any site, look for clear pics and check seller feedback.

Without knowing what specifically you are interested in, it's always hard to make recommendations, but these are several top-notch honest people...

http://www.angeldees.com/
http://www.jjteaparty.com/
http://www.greatcollections.com/ <-- auction site

On ebay, you will find honest sellers and um, less than honest sellers. One I can personally recommend - who has a HUGE inventory of raw coins - is Revick Galstaun of West Coast Coins in Toledo, OR (http://stores.ebay.com/West-Coast-C...edo-Oregon). I've met Rev a dozen times at PNW coin shows. When I first was collecting 3 cent silvers, I had learned I would approach a dealer (even at a HUGE show) and ask - and they would have two or maybe three. Rev says, "oh sure", reaches into his case and pulls out four 20 pocket sheets. He has that deep an inventory.

I would also seriously recommend your local coin shows (http://www.nebraskacoin.com/id66.html) - even if you just go to look & learn, you will see more and learn more in a couple hours than from DAYS of squinting at bad photos on ebay.

I agree with Neo. Mintproducts is a great site.

You appear to be interested in wheat cents.

Here's a thread on my recent Wheat cent purchase from them.

Be sure to check out the pics on page 2 of the thread...

I've only purchased coins from one on line dealer. No big thing but no where near what I can get at a coin show. IF you can find a coin show, go there. Usually no parking fees, no entry fees, no postage, handling, lost in mail, etc., just coins.
