1955 Cent

No, the "poormans" was just a worn out die and is pretty common. Some people put them in the place of the real 1955 doubled die in their albums because of cost. There is a die 2 variety that is pretty collectable and shows doubling on the motto and date. Had a chance to buy one a few years ago, slabbed AU-55 for $900 and didn't. Went to a coin auction that had a raw but more or less authenticated 1955 1-0-1 DDO, that was in my estimate a slider, about 9 months ago. It was my plan and intention to buy it no matter what. I got out of the bidding at $2100.00 and it finally sold for $2400.

Not only are they beautiful, they are going out of sight. Talk about a great investment awhile back. Add the 1909-S VDB and what a pair to draw to.
