I can't decide if this is a cleaned and retoned half or not. If forced to answer, I would say it has not been cleaned, but I am unsure. Any thoughts on this (realizing that this shot is somewhat pixelated). Thanks!

Looks EF-40 or so for detail. Surfaces look pretty dull which would suggest the coin is not completely original. If it was cleaned it has retoned to a basically acceptable appearance.

Perhaps an old soap and water cleaning but it looks acceptable for problem-free to me. XF40 easily and a nice looking Civil War era piece.

XF40. if it was cleaned it was light and I think the coin is market acceptable

I'm in at VF-35, and as others have stated, if it was cleaned it was done a long time ago, it was done very lightly and would be considered market acceptable as genuine

Thanks to all of you for your comments, they are very helpful. I am going to try to buy this today. I think it is a nicely toned coin. The consensus here seems to agree. Thanks again, I feel more confident about this coin now.
