A 84 DDO or 83 DDR with this affect would not be worth as much without that problem on the planchet. Report this Post to the Staff
foundinrolls Pillar of the Community United States 3507 Posts	Posted 01/07/2008 11:11 pm What you are describing as "orange peel" on the cents is not "orange peel" at all. On the cents, It is the result of the rinse resulting in corrosion between the zinc and the copper plating. It forms those bumps from the inside out. Its literally rot. On the dime and coins that show the "Orange peel" effect, the surface of the die has ripples and lines caused by die wear and fatigue of the die steel. Two completely different issues. No Orange peel on those cents, all Orange peel on the dime. Thanks, Bill Report this Post to the Staff
