can anyone tell me more about this and its value. do not know anything about it more into coins from the usa. still kinda of cool I found this just laying around in a parking lot.
1 bolivar from Venezuela. It's a helpful coin that tells you how much it weighs and how much silver it contains - it's 5 grams of 0.835 fine silver. Simon Bolivar fought to liberate a lot of South America from Spain in the early 1800s and he has a country named after him (Bolivia).
This particular portrait of Simon Bolivar was engraved in Paris for use in Venezuela, and entered use in the 1870s. Incredibly, the exact same portrait is still being used on today's Venezuelan coins. This makes it one of the world's oldest coin designs that's still in use.
Yours is in no collectible condition, but for a parking lot find it's definitely worth bending down for.
