Hi Greg

That 10p of yours is one of the varieties of 1992 10p coins out there , normal perhaps , slightly rare .....maybe but I will have to check and get back on this one ....

After checking it turns out you have one of the rare varieties of 1992 10p ! Apparently only 1% of 1992 10p coins are like yours but considering that 1,413,455,170 10p coins were minted for that year , 1% may seem like a lot ......depending on which way you look at it

Hah ;) thanks for your help! Do the pictures match up aswell to what I said? I just quoted what I read and what I think the coin seemed to have.

From my un-trained eye , yes regarding the E, L & A !

I`m not sure about the tufts of hair on the lion I haven`t got the hang of counting those

Dear members, I'm new to this site, I found this 10p a couple of days ago and noticed the triangles stamped on the coin above the L and under the H, is this anything significant or just some one with too much time on their hands and a stamp?

Thank you in advance

That, I'm afraid. What is more normally called "Post Mint Damage" (ie someone's messed about with it after it went into circulation).

Sorry. But

.
