I thought I had identified this as UMAYYAD, silver dirham, Al-Samiyyah, 131 AH (749 AD, but an ebay buyer told me: The mint name on this coin is al-Andalus because it is Spanish Umayyad and very clearly read at 7 o'clock.". Can anyone verify that they are correct? Thank you

I am just starting to branch out into this coin type so I really can't add much. I did find and interesting web site about the type though. It's a little add heavy but still interesting. http://www.angelfire.com/ny3/vaguebrit/

I'm going to move this over to the ancient/medieval coin section for more comments.

Reading over the information from the reference link it appears that the governor of al-Andalus at the time period of your coin was Yusub b Abd al-Rahman al-Fihri. I didn't find a reference to Al-Samiyyah.
