Thanks chip. MDP, I re-entered the hobby of coins with the full intention of dealing them. However, I was quickly overcome by the desire to collect them haha. I have no problem parting with doubles for cash or trades but unfortunately, this is my only example of a coin with a Cud. It took sooo long to find that I don't know if I could part with it. I'm sure the sentimental value to me is greater than the actual value, which I'm not entirely sure what that value is..

I do not know exactly how much %wise each anomaly(TDO, rim Cud, die state etc.) contributes to this $ 150 Asking Price for this CONECA-3-0-III 1960-D, for example, but this entire page prepared by the acclaimed Ken Potter is nonetheless an excellent and useful place to look at insofar as seeing what's out in the marketplace w/r/t pricing etc.

http://koinpro.tripod.com/ErrorVarietyList.htm:

One can locate this particular 1960-D about ¼ of the way down the page -

1960-D Large Date 1c Tripled Die Obverse. CONECA-3-0-III

Joecontois,

Some of the applicable descriptive verbiage to note from Mr. Potter for the aforementioned 1960-D being 'possibly' somewhat parallel to your coin would be:

".developed a small 'Rim Cud' to left and just above L of LIBERTY. Both states do have a lightly skirted R in LIBERTY." Romines' listed the variety with an estimated value of $150 in BU."

Best of luck,
mdpmedia

I'm not entirely sure why you used this coin for a comparison other than that it also has a Cud? It is nonetheless interesting; I've never heard of a TDO before!

My coin is now listed on cuds-on-coins.com. It is #37 on the very bottom of the page. Thank you BJ Neff!

I am curious of its' rarity

As far as rarity is concerned, I can tell you that in my experience in searching through a little over a million cents, I have only found about a dozen true Cud's or roughly 1 in every 80,000 to 100,000 cents searched.

Yours is pretty large and I have only found 1 as large as yours (see my avatar). So, in my experience, yours is a one in a million coin. Congrats!
