Hi all,

So I was about 90% through searching a 5 gallon jug of cents, perhaps 45,000 coins, before I found my first Cud! Upon a quick Google search, I came across the website ' Cuds on coins' and found a match for my coin. It is number 24 with pictures by Chuck Newman. The obverse is spot on as far as I noticed, and the only difference is that my coins' reverse has a few more letters obscured. I am curious of its' rarity and its' range of value. Thank you in advance!

I can't speak for rarity but you could probably get $60-$90 for that bad boy!

Nice. If only I could make a find like that everyday! I'm almost done searching a 5 gallon jug, which I guess to be about 50,000 cents?. Out of all of that, I've only found 6 errors, which include 4 Wide AM's, one is a 1998 and the other three are 2000's, a 1956D RPM, and now this Cud. I have an interesting 1972, but the consensus is that it is just PMD. Also, given the time and effort expended on finding these errors, I'd probably have a hard time parting with them, aside from doubles, which at this point only includes two 2000 Wide AM's.

Update: Make that 4 2000 Wide AM's, so that's now 3 'extras.' I spoke a few minutes too soon!

Nice find. You may want to try some Verdi-Care on it.

Thank you. I have never heard of Verdi-Care until just the past couple of days while browsing this site. I'll have to look into where to get it and how to use it. Thanks again.

for the record the wide "AM's" and the RPM are not errors...they are varieties...

Thanks dbrablec, would you mind giving me an example of an error, or are coins not referred to with the word 'error?

Thanks cwb, I suppose I'll search ebay. What price range do you estimate this coin falling in?
