Looking for another opinion, I'm stuck on the fence with PMD or RPM. I'm leaning more towards RPM as the rest of the S is not defaced. I'm including a screen shot from Wexler's for 1971 S RPM

Tough call considering the difference in condition of the coins up for comparison. However, I can see how Wexler's example could certainly erode down to your coin. ?
