This is a penny of my dads and we were wondering if this error adds any value to the coin. I apologize if this error is called something else I'm not 100% sure thanks in advance!

Looks like a damaged coin to me. Wouldn't be worth much if it did turn out to be a doubled die, anyways.

I'm not seeing a doubled die either with the pictures provided. From what I can see it's just a damaged coin. A spender

Almost looks like a MAD .. misaligned die strike.. full coin photos of both sides would be of great help..

Damage, not a misaligned die. The design features are too far in -- the semicircle was stamped on top of the lettering after the coin was minted.
