Found this 1960 old shiny coin in my penny bag so not sure how long I've had it but it definitely stands out. I've never seen a proof coin just started getting into this hobby so can someone give me some info?

A proof coin is one not issued for circulation. You can at times find one in circulation, but thatats from someone putting it there, by intention or not knowing, not very often. I've found 3 out of 750,000+ searched thru. Proofs have polished fields, rims are square and even thickness all around.
