kojakgold New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 04/04/2018 2:15 pm This one I don't need help with, it has already been veried as dropped letters/ribbon. I'm posting pictures of it, hoping you might find it interesting. Now let's see if I can get both pictures to upload in this one post. I am trying but, I couldn't get the whole coin to fit. kojakgold New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 04/04/2018 7:42 pm It happens when a letter/letters on the die gets clogged with compacted debris. The compacted debris falls out and can get struck into a coin. Then, somehow it falls out of the newly struck coin leaving the area incused with shape of the letter that fell out. So, I suppose the error could be called struck through. Ken Potter wrote an article explaining "Dropped Letters". It was established by Mike Diamond a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad I could post a genuine error coin instead of having to ask questions, for once. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/05/2018 3:04 pm If they are raised, it maybe part of the metal metal. If it is incuse, then it might be dropped letters. Depending on how it landed it could be mirrored or normal in shape if it is dropped letters. Report this Post to the Staff
