Flipped-8-In-An-1888-Morgan-Dollar

Hi all,

I came across this on facebook, the claim is that the last "8" in the year 1888 is flipped. It claims to be a P Mint, and it goes onto say that the bottom of the 8 should have been the top and top should have been the bottom.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think it's either someone who doesn't know what they're talking about or trying to perpetrate.

Edit: I went to the VAM site and there are several listings for an inverted 8. I learned something and stand corrected. Now removing foot from mouth...

88p isn't a date I know well but I do know that there is controversy with the "inverted 8's." I would ask the 88 guys over at VamWorld about it if you want specifics..
