1917 Doubled Die Obverse / DDO Penny Found!

dbeck22 Valued Member United States 117 Posts	Posted 11/17/2019 05:23 am I recently found a 1917 penny that I believe is a DDO-001. It is a little worn, but for it's age, I think it's a beauty! at first glance it looked like a normal 1917 penny, but when I zoomed in on the pictures I took, you can clearly see the split serifs. Look at the one picture that I edited. You can tell it's a different color from editing. I did this because you can see the split serifs much easier because of the contrast of color. It makes it easier to see the doubling around the R and U of TRUST and the 7 of the date. Let me know what you all think. happy hunting everyone! Report this Post to the Staff

The second leg on that R of TRUST is esay to see even in well circulated examples and it's not showing up on yours.. Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
